How to Help

Hurricane Harvey

“. . . Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”

~ Matthew 25:40 ~

Dear Friends,

I have asked one of our long time Readers, who lives in the area impacted by Hurricane Harvey, in Texas, about how we can all help; as I am sure like many of you, I too have been looking for the best way to reach out and impact this community in a positive manner.

Maria has shared that she is supporting The Church TX, and I thought you may want to take a look: https://www.facebook.com/TheChurchTX/

As we all know, these types of disasters can take a very long time to recover from, and sometimes a warm cup of coffee, a smile, and someone willing to address a need that can be met – like clean pajamas, dry bedding, or a hot breakfast, is enough to give us the extra push we need, to go out and start the process of trying to reclaim our life.

Most of us are not in a position to write the checks that we wish we could write, and maybe even a small donation is not within reach, at the moment, but do not let that stop you from engaging. Go out and take a look at the various sites trying to help, as you may be the person who sees a need no one else is looking at; and that may well be what directs how you pray – something we can all be involved in doing effectively.

Also, if you have any other organization to recommend to us all, please do so — thank you!
