Portland Head Light
Cape Elizabeth, Maine
If you come to Maine, inevitably, you will see Portland Head Light; especially if you come as my guest. President George Washington directed that this lighthouse be built in 1787; it is the oldest lighthouse in the state of Maine. The lighthouse went into service in January of 1791. While I am not a fan of winter, I do appreciate the beauty captured in this postcard.
