“Sojourner”

Love spurned

She climbs the ladder of her tears

To a hidden place

A piece of her is buried here

It is all she has left

She turns her back on fate

And prays the pain will mold her

She is indigo in heart and soul

A mystery bubbling at the surface

And when you are loved by her

It is serendipity kissed with longing

Yet she is turned away time and time again

An orphaned heart bursting with beautiful love

She wonders who will carry her on

Yet she knows it will never be

Lady of the lost affections

She wakes in thick loneliness

A beauty without admirers

Oh endless soul

She longs to be free

And she walks on…
