Merry Christmas to Kate, from Mother
Mother sent this note to Kate in a Christmas card: “Maybe one of these will be valuable. Merry Christmas, Love, Stella
“This one came from your grandmother. I found it when I was sweeping
where her sewing machine was sitting.”
It is no secret that my Mother lived her life with limited means, nor that she managed to make the most of every situation. My parents both had a gift for making the ordinary extraordinary, no small feat.
