Perfect Post Cards

Remembering Martin Luther King Jr.

“Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.”

~ Martin Luther King Jr. ~

This year, Martin Luther King Jr. Day actually falls on his birthday, January 15; the federal holiday is observed on the third Monday of January.

I share with you a post card that I purchased at the Center for Civil and Human Rights, in Atlanta, Georgia: “1961 Freedom Riders”

The card captures 328 mug shots of Freedom Riders who answered Rev. King’s call for non-violent protest to end segregation in public transportation.

“Cowardice asks the question – is it safe?
Expediency asks the question – is it politic?
Vanity asks the question – is it popular?
But conscience asks the question – is it right?
And there comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular; but one must take it because it is right.”

~ Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. ~
