I love being surprised by an artist work; I would not have imagined this to be a piece by Whistler, nor could I imagine sitting at the beach so heavily clothed. However, the painting instantly drew me in with the contrasting colors of the rocks, sand, and sea, with the woman almost being inconsequential to the beauty created by God.
