Pentagon 9-11
“We claim this ground in remembrance of the events of September 11, 2001.
To honor the 184 people whose lives were lost, their families, and all who sacrifice that we may live in freedom.
We will never forget.”
We first visited the Pentagon Memorial, for those killed on 9-11 in November of 2008, before there was a Public Square. http://thatisallfornow.com/?p=4811
I am not entirely sure why we decided to come back, as the Pentagon is not exactly easily accessible; I mean it is not off of the National Mall, like so many memorials, where when going to see one, you run into another. Yet we did venture back; and I am glad we did.
This time I was much more confident about where I was going, and parked without asking too many people if it was okay – those who work at and guard the Pentagon were happy we had come to pay our respects.
Even with the hustle and bustle of changing shifts, the Memorial is a solemn place, where we come to pay our respect and remember.
